She was considered a very handsome yacht in her day, and while dated by today's convertible standards, used models remained popular with buyers for years after she went out of production in 1983. The 42 was offered with two twin-stateroom floorplans: Plan A--the more popular of the two--has a wide-open salon with the galley down and V-berths in the forward stateroom. On the downside, the engine room is a tight fit and there's plenty of exterior teak trim to maintain. Additional features included a cockpit control station, tackle center with freezer, transom door, teak cockpit sole, and a central vacuum system.
